The purpose of this site is to increase awareness and inspire interest in the Endangered Seabirds of the main Hawaiian Islands.  These remarkable birds spend most of their lives at sea, but return each year to their native Hawai`i to breed.

In this site, you will learn about the fascinating biology of these animals, and important conservation-based efforts to recover their populations. The three species of endangered seabirds that breed on the main Hawaiian Islands are the Newell's Shearwater, the Hawaiian Petrel, and the Band-rumped Storm-Petrel.
